How to Use Affirmations to Make Profound Impacts in Your Daily Life

Every morning you wake up, write down an affirmation in your handy notebook and leverage it to make good impacts throughout your day. How would you do that? Read on to find out.
Here are some examples of affirmations and the results they can produce:
  1. I strengthen my relationships one level higher both at the home and work fronts
When you write the above affirmation in your notebook, it leaves an imprint in your mind. And it is the very thing that goes about making the affirmation a reality throughout the day. For instance, you pass a good compliment to a co-worker at work. You make her happy and you yourself become happy. Then you get a call from your hubby and you greet him well and also help him solve the problem he is having at hand. And you both become happier in the process. Therefore, the chain of joy and goodness goes on all along.
  1. I can figure out the problem of finding my life direction
Once you have it written early in the morning, it gets ingrained in your brain. And it goes about giving you hints and signs about what actions to take to move forward and in what direction. Take little steps. For instance, you meet a friend on the way to shopping and she excitedly tells you that the novel she wrote has become a bestseller on Amazon and New York Times. That gives you an edge. You start wondering if writing is your cup of tea and you finally make a choice and go about taking further little steps until you reach your desired new goal.
  1. I can improve the wellness of my family
Once you write the above affirmation after waking up from a good night's sleep, like before, your mind will start to influence the events that take place thereafter. For instance, when you go to pick up your kids from their school, you meet there a nutritionist mother you have talked to before. She starts talking about tips on health and fitness. And you ask if there is a good book you could buy regarding the topic. And in return, she gives you a free copy of her book on your desired topic that she has authored recently. While you benefit from the book, she wants you to promote it in your neighborhood and community. The book is an asset to you because as you read the tips and start applying them to your life directly, you actually improve the wellness of your family.
  1. I can solve the puzzle of my complex work project
Again writing the above affirmation in your notebook before heading for work, your mind gropes for ways to help you with your problem. There is something you don't understand about your project. Who could help? While you are still working hard at it at your workplace, a colleague passes by to invite you to her fiftieth birthday party after work at the nearby restaurant. You remember that she had completed a similar work project in the past and you immediately take the opportunity to ask her about a piece of the puzzle in your project. She is able to help you out as she is more knowledgeable and skilled than you. You have a puzzle piece solved and you work on the rest of the pieces in order to integrate them together into a solution. Doing everything by yourself is almost always impossible, you gather and so if the older lady could help you out, you can take a little help from other good cooperative colleagues as well from time to time.
Summing up, affirmations could come to use in the above profound ways and you never know how they will lead you to unlock your problems and open up the mysteries behind them and materialize them through interesting solutions.

Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Circumstances! (Law Of Attraction) Pow...

The Thought That Makes Or Breaks Us All

When we see the end, for good or bad, we have it. When we see infinity or not any end, we have that too. Napoleon Bonaparte said one true and honest thing that I agree with: "Imagination rules the world." Also, Martin Luther King said a quote I completely agree with: "You better earn, baby, earn instead of burn, baby, burn." I will explain all contextual realities throughout this article. The easiest thing we can do when reality does not agree with us is to genuinely quit, the hardest thing to do when it does not agree with us is to change approaches within that reality even if the new approach at first really does not agree with us. Indeed, if we really want something, flexibility is a must, flexibility or rigidity is the thought that makes or breaks a goal or even us as beings.
When I think of reality, I think of it as something genuinely flexible, not a rigid "this is it and it will never change". After all, where do you think a genuine sense of loss comes from? Rigid thinking. Flexible thinking is where all gain in reality comes from. After all, Henry Ford almost lost a lot of his fortune sticking with the "Model T" for almost too long a time, and it took Henry Ford II to add flexibility to the Ford brand for its genuine survival and competitiveness in the business realm. On another note about cars, flexibility and new ideas were the secret to Walter Percy Chrysler's success in the car business, and later Lido Anthony "Lee" Iacocca had the same flexibility and creativity renewing that very same Walter P. Chrysler company.
See my point, that which is too rigid never succeeds. That which is creative and flexible always succeeds. Genuine productive flexibility adds reality shocks in the right places that keeps things going where we want them to go instead of destroying themselves in the opposite directions of where we want them to go. Sure, I can give more of a hint than that, but the thought that makes us is flexibility, and the thought that breaks us is genuine fearful rigidity. Legendary status and greatness comes from creativity and flexibility in the right places. Being clownish comes from rigidity in the wrong places.
So, think about this before I end the article: We all love to win, but he who has the character strength to do it completely right, wins right. Anything less really is cheating or losing. I could tell you what I mean by that statement, but read into it what you must to get it. After all, a good article does not do the thinking for you, it makes you productively think about reality, which is my aim anyway!

Developing a Winner's Mindset

A certain hermit by the name of Manfred once said to me "Son, you can be anything you want to be in this life, you can do anything you want to do, and you can achieve anything you want to achieve, if only you believe." I had heard these words before, no doubt, but something in the way he said it, the stern voice and sure look in his eye made me wonder does he know something I dont?
I have been wondering ever since and have been trying to live by his words
What is motivation? And what is a winner's mindset?
I challenge these questions in the article below, but first let's look at why we should seek to get motivated in the first place:
  • Health Benefits: Motivated people are usually healthier than ordinary people -- they love life and as a result have a reason to stay healthy. They have experienced the highs and lows of life and prefer a healthy balanced lifestyle.

  • Attraction: Motivated people are magnetic -- everybody wants to be around them, who doesn't want to be around someone who's always happy whether it rains or shines?

  • Productivity: Motivated people get things done -- they have a can do attitude. They show more anticipation for the day ahead and tackle each task with strong passion and enthusiasm.

  • Positivity: Motivated people are optimists -- they have learnt that optimism opens more doors in life than pessimism does. Their approach to challenges is different and they adapt better to change. They see everything good or bad as an opportunity to learn and grow.

  • Energy: Motivated people have more energy and require less sleep than ordinary people. This is not due to a caffeine rush or an adrenaline spike but it is a genuine natural excitement and enthusiasm for living.
Being motivated is a choice and an outlook not a situation or position.
Being motivated
One of my favourite quotes by Zig Ziglar is that "You cannot get motivated to succeed if you do not know your motives", and by Laurence Peter "If you don't know where you're going you might end up somewhere else." These words could be no further from the truth.
Both quotes inspire action, both inspire vision, both inspire goals. It is important to have motives and a clear visual outline of what you want out of life because once you know what you want, you will figure out how to get it.
Knowing your motives allows you to discover your values, your dreams and your passions
Everybody has goals, but not everybody's goals are the same. There are primarily two reasons people get motivated:
1. It is the desire for gain
2. It is the fear of loss
1. Susan is a wife, a mother, a worker, has a stable job, financial security, a wonderful family, and a great social life -but she has health problems
2. Helen is a single mother, waiter, barely making ends meat - but is in good health
Helen, we presume, could be motivated by the desire for gain in the areas of financial stability, social security, companionship, status, recognition etc, while Susan would be motivated more by the desire to maintain her current lifestyle and thus would look at adopting healthier habits such as getting in shape, eating right, managing her relationships at home, her productivity at work, and her social status.
Both would have motivating factors and thus both would have goals to set and achieve.
Carrots
Goals are carrots, they are stepping stones to achieving dreams, they are checkpoints, milestones, they are the things that bring us closer to success.
To have goals is to have direction and a compass. a road map to a destiny. Goals say 'In order to get that first succeed at this' and 'In order to be that first be this'. Goals are necessary and are the starting point. Once you have clearly defined goals your vision becomes clearer and the action steps to reach it becomes more practical.
If your dream is a higher position at work, you set smaller goals in place that will help you achieve it. You could start by brainstorming and writing down what tasks the job will demand of you and at what capacity, experience, education and skills etc.
Once you have it written down you then select which ones you can do right now and in your present capacity. You could take extra classes, volunteer for work projects to improve product knowledge and gain additional skills.
A goal is a lighthouse, a dock, a checkpoint, something to get to that will allow you to move on successfully to the next, gradually making progress to the bigger objective.
The Winner's Attitude
Being a winner is not a once off thing. It is a series of habits that will eventually make you a consistent person in every endeavor you make. It is a character trait, winners have a positive attitude, an enthusiastic spirit, and bold self-confidence
I will start this section with a few of my favourite quotes:
"Control your destiny or someone else will" ~ Jack Welch
"Do what you can, with what you have, where you are" ~ Theodore Roosevelt
"The way to get started is to stop talking and start doing" ~ Walt Disney
"Things may come to those who wait, but only the things left by those who hustle" ~ Abraham Lincoln
"The person who is waiting for something to turn up might start with their shirt sleeves" ~ Garth Henrichs
Success breeds success
When you try something you thought you couldn't do before and actually do it, the confidence you gain from accomplishing that goal will allow you to go boldly and confidently onto the next. Small goals lead to more small goals and by the time you look back, you have made significant progress toward the top of the staircase.
When you get into the habit of winning you develop a winner's mindset. A mindset that says I cannot lose, for I will give it my all until I succeed at this. Winners are not born but they are made -- through small efforts great things can be accomplished.
Smaller goals
A successful businessman and friend of mine once told me his secret to success: Scoring smaller goals.
It didn't seem like much at the time but he further went on to say he discovered early that his confidence grew whenever he won or excelled at something. No matter how small it was. This attitude helped him quit smoking, train for and finish a successful marathon, and compete at a local triathlon
He says this attitude helped him every day in winning minor goals and when he beat a challenge or jumped a hurdle or broke his personal best, his confidence soared.
He further went on to say that keeping fit improves his mood, confidence, physical energy, and mental agility - traits he says are vital to his success in business, relationships, family, life, hobbies etc.
And I agree with him, and have since developed this attitude myself
1. Chase Something
Small, big, anything, something you can excel in, something you can win in, something apart from the bigger goal -a hobby perhaps, a sports club, art, photography, learning an instrument, travel. Anything you thought you couldn't do or were scared to do you should do it. That riff you you've always wanted to string? Try it, and see how far you get with it.
The mental focus and dedication that will be required for you to succeed in the task will develop in you an attitude of discipline and the mindset of a champion that says 'Nothing is impossible'
2. Do not fear failure
Everything in life is a risk
While Henry Ford today is known for his innovative assembly line and American-made cars, he wasn't always a success. In fact, his early businesses failed him and left him broke five times before he founded the successful Ford Motor Company.
Abraham Lincoln surely goes down in history as one of the greatest leaders of the 20th century, but his life wasn't always awesome. In his youth he went to war a captain and returned a private (now if you're not familiar with military ranks, a private is as low as you can get.) He didn't stop failing there though. Afterwards he started numerous businesses that utterly failed and was defeated in numerous runs for office before he became president.
Billionaire and philanthropist Warren Buffet wasn't accepted at Harvard University because he was told he just wasn't smart enough. If he believed them, he would have never been the man he later became to be. His rejection was his fuel for success.
NBA star and basketball legend Michael Jordan was rejected several times from the High school basketball team and was told he just wasn't good enough. He proved them all wrong and later went to say "I have failed over and over and over in my life and that is why I am successful."
Winners often go through tough times before they succeed. The idea is not to avoid failure, but it is to keep trying and moving forward and out of your comfort zone to get what you want.
3. Motivate Someone
Speak words of success everyday
When you motivate others you speak positive words, words of success and encouragement. Positive talk in your vocabulary makes you think constantly about what you are saying and you eventually believe it. Spoken words become reality and positive talk leads to positive outcomes. "I have never seen a pessemistic general win a battle" ~ Dwight David Eisenhower
4. Learn From The Best
Legendary boxing champion and social activist Muhammad Ali made the slogan "I am the greatest" his personal brand. Now it's arguable he wasn't the greatest boxer in his time but he said it so often that he made us believe him.
He also said "To be a great champion you must believe you are, If you're not, pretend you are". and later confessed "I figured that if I said it enough, I'd convince the world that I really was the greatest." And that he did, and then worked his butt off to make it a reality.
Try to surround yourself around positive people, people who inspire you. Who challenge you. If you cannot then surround yourself with self help and motivational books. If you're more modern and are on twitter follow thought leaders, motivational people, quotation curators and inspirational individuals. The constant stream of positivity and encouragement will leave you motivated and encouraged everyday.
5. Get Your Mind Right
Winning is a mind-set. Winners constantly share their pearls of wisdom to us but we seldom believe them because somehow, we think their just extraordinary human beings. We forget that they are ordinary people like you and me who worked hard to make their dreams a reality.
If we can look at our past and look at ourselves now, we will realise that nothing can stop us, our limitations are simply illusions, hurdles that must be jumped and conquered. If we can convince ourselves that we were born to win we will eventually win. It is for us to stop doubting ourselves and proceed onwards with our success
The world is our playground. Let's go score some goals

Listening to podcasts
Many people have this courage and audacity to read those gigantic books which are good down the line. But for those who do not have time to sit and read, for them there is this thing going popular around the block called" podcasts". Podcasts are nothing but the audio version of video files and are the series of episodes of famous interviews, books and many more things. Download your referred series and listen to it while travelling or while doing any chore. Listening to the famous person's interviews and successful entrepreneur's story will give you more positivity and meaning towards life.
Solo Trip around the Places Which You Desire to See
We people have been chained in a system, where we worship dependency on others majority of times to do even a basic task like going or visiting nearby places. Who said you can't step out of the home without any company. Go try the new places like café around your locality, watch a movie, try a new theatre or maybe sightsee the famous monuments that are drawn in your history books. Who said your trips has to start with bigger things, try taking a stroll in a park alone daily and see the difference. This will completely help you to get ahead in your life peacefully and give you more courage to get out of your comfort zone.
Learn Everyday Something New
Is there any passion or activity you love to do? If yes, then go on and learn about it in a detailed manner. The passion no matter how big or small is if it is your go-to thing, then go ahead. Make a promise to learn each day something new, whether it is cooking or forms of dance. You will inherit that positivity and confidence that no other regular doing can provide you. Be your boss and learn whatever drives you or motivates you to live each day.
Get Up and Dress Up
Who said you can dress well for big occasions only, why can't you dress up each day for cheering towards the life that you wanted to live. Dressing doesn't have to mean roaming around the house in tuxedos or ties. It means dressing up clothes that makes you feel pumped up. Wear a nice scent and experiment with your styling and then go do the daily task. The amount of confidence and love you will receive towards your body will ultimately quench your soul only.
Be Grateful
No matter how big you become, you should be thankful to your life and must owe this life which taught you so many things and gave reasons to live. Pay gratitude to things that came your way no matter positive or negative, they came for a reason. Try putting this gesture and see how negativity will be blown out from your life.
You do not have to be big enough to live a leading life, you need to make your life big enough to let you live.

TONY ROBBINS | 30Minutesfor the NEXT 30 Years of Your LIFE

To Prepare Yourself For A Better Tomorrow, Do All You Can To Be Your Best Today

The Aggregation Of Small Habits Leads To Greatness
Do you realise your best is yet to come? How do you feel when you read that statement? Do you think: "My best is behind me"? But what if you don't know what you're capable of unless you continue to move forward towards your goals and dreams? Let me give you an example. When Michael Jordan failed making his high school basketball team, do you think his career was over? Perhaps he thought so at the time because not making the team might have seemed like the end of the road for him, but it wasn't. It was the beginning of his career as one of the greatest basketballers of all time. Why? Jordan loved to play basketball and spent hours practicing and fine tuning his skills. The setbacks and defeats he experienced were part of the process to achieve greatness. They were inflection points in his career and why your best is yet to come, as long as you continue moving towards your goals. Warning: you must believe your best is still to come and keep taking the right course of action.
Your best will come from your habits, practice, growth, setbacks, victories and knowledge gained over the years. To prepare for a better tomorrow, we must commit to the tasks of today that lay the foundation for tomorrow. Nothing good can come of delaying that which we must attend to now. Whilst many of our daily tasks or habits can be tedious and time-consuming, with the right mindset they will transform our efforts into achievement. We must do our best whatever that looks like, knowing the aggregation of small habits leads to greatness. This is the essence of what motivational author and speaker Brendon Burchard refers to in High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way where he writes: "Being on your A game means that you are giving your best effort with full focus on the singular task at hand. To get it, you need to stoke the internal and external demands of necessity. Specifically, you assume the identity of a high performer and you set up situations that require full immersion." How does this idea appeal to you? Is this something you're prepared to invest in or are you already taking inspired action in your life? Whatever the case, investing in ourselves means committing to that which makes our hopes and dreams come alive.
Focus On Priorities That Make You Come Alive
We are the vessel upon which our tomorrow is created or conversely, one in which we will live with regret. Either way, regret is nothing more than ineffective action because we have squandered our time on things that don't matter. To be your best today, requires bringing your whole self to every situation. What do I mean by whole self? I mean the entirety of your being, including your mind, body and spirit. The person who brings their whole self to their task is inspired by a greater purpose for their life. A person who brings their whole self to their undertakings unites with their deeper intent, so each action is purposefully guided and emanates from passion and direct intention. We are the habits of our yesterdays and the victors of our tomorrows. What we plant in our mind and sow into our hearts becomes the seeds of greatness tomorrow.
So what are you committed to? What actions are delivering you tangible results? We must be clear whether our labour compels us to move forward or keeps us stationary. Stagnancy is a misdirected purpose in the form of resistance because we are frightened by the success of tomorrow. Yet, this is the purpose of daily actions and habits: to sharpen the saw as the late Dr. Stephen Covey wrote in his book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. It is the opportunity to refine, review and reward ourselves for actions we undertake that bring our hopes and dreams alive.
Nothing good can come of setting aside that which can be completed now because what we put off for tomorrow compounds and soon enough we face yet another fear. Our task is to minimise fear from our lives, so we can focus on our highest objectives through purposeful action. We ought to pursue things that make us come alive, not make us feel weary and uninspired. We must do away with commitments and obligations that hinder our progress or better still, delegate them to others so we can focus on that which makes us come alive. We must bring forth the song within our heart because this is the song that touches those whom associate with our work. So I ask you: what are you putting off today that may inhibit your tomorrow? Can you commit to the smallest task, even when you feel less inclined to? Without doubt, if we are inspired by some greater purpose, then the smaller tasks will fuel our actions because a better tomorrow is possible when we commit to be our best today.
Whether you want to improve areas of your life or achieve your goals, my Coaching Program will offer you the improvements you're looking for. The sessions are one hour and geared towards: coaching and guidance, conversations and of course powerful transformation.

Why it Pays to Be Hungry | Les Brown | Goalcast

Message From the Universe: Being Your Humble Servant

"When it comes to setting aside a little time each day to visualize, look at it like this:
No matter how distracted you become or how confused you are about the process, the simple fact that you gave your dream this time and attention means you did it correctly, you did it long enough, and that by the time you open your eyes, already in the unseen, huge wheels have begun turning.
HUGE.
You think I'd make it hard?
Your humble servant,
The Universe"
As no one can predict the outcome to any of their effort, it can be hard to determine if everything you do in life will succeed or fail. All you can do is try and see. You can be sure of 100% rate of failure if you don't anything. All the great success happened to people who jump into the unknown and had faith it would work out. I will admit that many have failed but that is not because they tried, but that was because they were ignorant and made terrible stupid mistakes. Read and study as much as you can prior to making the same mistakes and learn from them. Not trying anything will certainly not bring you anywhere.
The rate of progress may somewhat be relevant as to how soon you want to make it to the top. I have seen and coached some who have taken decades to get to where they are and have succeeded very well. Just like losing weight, doing it progressively is what will help you keep the pounds off. Doing it too fast may not be successful all of the time. Take calculated risk when you venture into the unknown, but still take some risks. You want to explore some of the opportunities offered to you and it is important you don't take them all. Be selective and smart about it. The Universe will always pay attention to your work and will somewhat guide you in the right direction. So if you do end up choosing one venture over the other, it was not just pure luck as the Universe has something to do with it. Be grateful for these signs as they may not always be so obvious.

On The Other Side Of Suffering Is Greatness | David Goggins

Never Give Up Because If You Do What Is Easy, Your Life Will Be Hard

Do you want to live an easy life or a difficult one? I know, it's a worthless question because who wants to live a life filled with pain and suffering? Yet, this is what many people choose every day, whether they are conscious of it or not. I don't intend to disparage them, however in coaching hundreds of people over the years, many of them unknowingly choose a difficult life because they make easy choices instead of important ones. Considering this, think about the choices you're making right now and their respective actions. Are they moving you towards growth and freedom or pain and suffering? Easy choices means staying within our comfort zone without exploring our limitations where real growth occurs. Sure, it's difficult to venture outside our comfort zone because of the psychological and emotional strain. However, if we do what is easy, life will be difficult because our comfort zone does not equate to personal growth to achieve our bigger goals. How does this appeal to you? Is this something you're willing to explore personally and professionally? I assure you, challenges allow us to delve into the greater depths of our resiliency instead of staying safe.
It's why we mustn't give up on our goals or highest ambitions when life gets tough, as it no doubt will. We mustn't give up because we don't know how far we will go when we rise above our challenges and obstacles. It is said we achieve our goals by growing into them, therefore growth is proportionate to our self-improvement. Growth takes place in adverse conditions because most people will thrive when conditions are favourable, yet struggle through difficulties. However, life's conditions are never ideal and so we must show up with total conviction that we will prevail, even if we don't know how. Most times we will have little knowledge how to proceed because of limited information and the uncertainty of our actions. This mustn't hold us back because giving up is not the easy way out since we must live with regret and disappointment. In view of this, I'd like you to reflect on a current goal or endeavour you want to give up on. Is this your only choice or have you considered other options? I don't have the answers because I don't know you to offer the advice you need. Similarly, I can't look into a crystal ball and predict the future because neither of us are equipped with psychic powers. But what I can tell you is more often than not, giving up is rarely the answer because if we take the easy way out, we are assured of difficult times ahead. We are likely to miss out on the personal growth that takes place when we expose ourselves to situations beyond our comfort zone.
We Must Get Comfortable Being Uncomfortable
Is this making sense to you? Have you experienced times where you stepped out of your comfort zone, whether it be learning a new skill, habit or otherwise? If so, what did you learn from the experience and has it served you? It's no surprise that life isn't smooth sailing and if we want to achieve anything of value, we must do things that scare us every once in a while and integrate it into our reality. We must get comfortable being uncomfortable and those who give up too soon find it difficult being uncomfortable, i.e. out of their comfort zone. Sometimes giving up may be necessary, yet in most parts we can learn to channel the skills we gain from our endeavours and use them to pivot in a new direction or develop a greater awareness of our goals. So considering this, I'd like you to write down five advantages and disadvantages of giving up on a project, a dream, a relationship or career? Look at your answers and connect with the underlying motivation behind them. Reflect on why you undertook this goal in the first place and connect with what you hope to gain by giving up. It is only once we are aware of our motives that we can overcome any regret or disappointment. Otherwise, life is likely to be hard because we pursued what is easy instead of what is essential to our growth. And as you know, real growth correlates to bigger and better achievements.
Whether you want to improve areas of your life or achieve your goals, my Coaching Program will offer you the improvements you're looking for. The sessions are one hour and geared towards: coaching and guidance, conversations and of course powerful transformation.

How To Restore Passion For Your Life

When was the last time you felt truly passionate about something? Felt good, right? And so it should! Good thing is, you can learn how to restore passion for your life.
Passion is most evident when body, mind and spirit work together to create, articulate or manifest feelings, ideas and values. Passion is ignited when all of you work together. It is the presence of your soul combined with the totality of all you've experienced, and it empowers to live at optimal levels.
Passion your natural state. When what you do is in alignment with who you are, it increases your energy. Passion is like water flowing along its natural riverbed, gaining momentum from its course - unlike many work environments, where it feels more like trying to force water up and over a mountain!
Passion creates resilience. It enables you to overcome obstacles and to look beyond current setbacks to the infinite potential that's yours to claim. The passionate soul discovers nuggets of potential in every situation.
Passion transfers vibrant energy to every person or situation it touches. You can't fake it. Anyone can spot a phony by sensing lack of authenticity and depth in their actions.
And yet, many people run from passion because they're afraid of being burned. They hang on to the pain of betrayed trust and misplaced confidences as a reminder to dampen their own passion, lest they be hurt again. Perhaps they held the bucket for soulless greed and overzealous egos disguised as passion. Consequently, they're afraid of taking the risk to live life fully, openly and passionately. They may have even vowed to never go there again.
Instead, they opt for a more predictable, monochromatic existence. Rather than taking exploring the endless possibilities of life, they insist on hiding inside a safety bubble; giving up on adventure to exist in a sanitary, colorless world where nothing new happens.
What they really need is to restore their passion!
If you want a juicy life, you need to open your heart and mind to the multidimensional experience of passionate living every day.
Can you imagine how much more meaningful our roles as parents, lovers, business owners, employees, teachers and leaders would be if all our actions were predicated on our true passion? There is no limit to how far your influence can reach! To tap into your potential, you must engage life with passion. By bringing passion to what you do, you express every aspect of your creative being.
Here's the secret to living a passionate life: Never try to throttle down your passion for fear of what might show up! You cannot selectively suppress some part of your being without also suppressing the rest of your energy. When you suppress your passion, you also suppress your Life Force.
Truth is, every activity you engage in expresses the whole of you - much like one part of a hologram reflects the whole in its entirety. Even if you pick a narrow skill like running a marathon or cooking, your whole sense of self is expressed through that activity when doing it with passion.
When living from your passion, you bring your entire identity to the party, not just an isolated part. This may sound daunting, but actually it's the most natural way to approach anything.
When you hold some part of yourself back, you deny it exposure to life; you repress its energy and keep it from learning what it needs to know. Imagine a baby who wants to learn how to walk but has these reservations:
  • I don't want to look bad.
  • I don't want to fall down.
  • I don't want to fail.
  • I don't want to expend all my energy.
  • I don't want any pain.
  • I don't want to suffer.
It would seem absurd! If these thoughts prevail, the chance for mastery could never present itself. Yet as adults we resort to such reservations all the time - and deny ourselves mastery as a result.
The minute a situation arises, all the negatives around that situation will arise in the mind along with all the possibilities. The key is that you have a choice about which to focus on!
When you choose to focus on negatives, you yield to subconscious fear to shut out understanding. Do that often enough and you become a victim, subject to bewildering fears that can threaten to overwhelm you. These fears aren't coming from blind fate or misfortune; they simply represent holes in your awareness, the places where you haven't dared to look yet.
To break free from such self-limiting behavior, try looking at an issue that has kept you from totally engaging in life. For instance, if you are worried about what others may think of your effort, then that is the issue you need to challenge!
When I launched out into a solo practice, well-intended friends questioned whether I would make it in a highly demanding field. I chose not to listen to the voices of apprehension; instead, I redoubled my efforts because my passion is to help people.
At the time, it was the scariest, riskiest, most challenging thing I could think of doing with my life. It was also the one thing that kept me dreaming and working against all odds. Today, I can look back at decades of amazing outcomes and success.
Choosing to follow my passion took me to the edge of my comfort zone and stretched me in every way possible. It also brought growth, joy and fulfillment into every area of my life. I wouldn't trade what I'm doing for the world, because I get to use my innate gifts daily. I love living in alignment with my purpose and my passion!
What is that one, wild dream you have buried deep within? Is it time to let it emerge into the light where you can nourish it into a passionate path to fulfillment? How will you know unless you try?
You can restore passion for your life.
Start voicing your inner dreams and passions. Face down your fears, and treat your dreams like tender threads of gold, for they are every bit as precious. They form the fabric that fabulous lives are woven from!
